Angela Rigas takes key oversight roles in Michigan House

State Representative Angela Rigas has been appointed to several key oversight committees in the Michigan House of Representatives. Speaker of the House Matt Hall selected Rigas for these roles, which include Member of the Committee on Oversight, Chair of the Oversight Subcommittee on Weaponization of State Government, Vice Chair of the Oversight Subcommittee on Child Welfare System, and Member of the Committee on Regulatory Reform.

Rigas expressed her gratitude for these appointments. "I want to thank Speaker Hall for entrusting me with these crucial roles," she stated. She recounted a personal experience from 2020 when she faced legal challenges after protesting, which she believes were politically motivated. "As Chair of the Oversight Subcommittee on the Weaponization of State Government, I will make sure no Michigander has to endure similar politically motivated attacks."

In her role as Vice Chair of the Oversight Subcommittee on Child Welfare System, Rigas aims to address issues within Michigan's Child Protective Services. "Our Child Protective Services system is broken," she said. Rigas emphasized the need for accountability and due process within CPS.

Rigas is committed to using her committee positions to advocate for transparency and accountability in government. "I look forward to working with my colleagues to push for real reform, expose wrongdoing, and stand up for the people of Michigan," she declared.

For further information, Representative Angela Rigas can be contacted at (517) 373-1403 or via email at [email protected].
