Rep. Angela Rigas has formally requested documents from Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel concerning the Flint Water Crisis. As Chair of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Weaponization of State Government, Rigas seeks detailed information about financial expenditures related to prosecutions stemming from the crisis.

In her letter, Rigas emphasized the subcommittee's role in ensuring "transparency, accountability, and the responsible use of state resources in governmental operations." She highlighted a public interest in understanding how tax dollars have been utilized over years of legal proceedings related to the crisis.

Rigas set a deadline for document submission by March 25 and offered assistance for any questions regarding her request. She stated that "Michigan residents have entrusted House Republicans with a mandate for truth and transparency" and affirmed citizens' rights to see how their taxes are spent.

The request underscores efforts to uphold principles of good governance and fiscal responsibility. Rep. Rigas can be contacted at (517) 373-1403 or via email at [email protected].
