City of Wyoming issued the following announcement.
It's that time of year again! Help us keep our streets clear of snow this winter and avoid parking tickets by following the odd-even parking ordinance! Beginning Dec. 1, odd-even
parking begins. Our odd-even parking ordinance helps to keep roadways clear and accessible for you, snow plows and emergency vehicles during the winter. The ordinance – in
effect Dec. 1 through March 31 – requires residents and visitors to alternate the side of the street they park on between midnight and 7 p.m. That’s so plows can keep both sides of
the street clear of snow.
Here’s how it works: On odd dates, park on the side of the street with odd addresses – those that end with 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9. On even dates, park on the side of the street with even
addresses – those that end with 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8. For example, if you have an odd-numbered address (1155 Sample St.), parkon your side of the street on odd-numbered dates (Jan.
5) On even-numbered dates (Jan. 6), park on the other side of the street. Parking is allowed on cul-de-sacs only on even-numbered days.
When you follow the odd-even parking ordinance, you help our plow drivers work faster and safer so they can keep neighborhood streets clear of snow. This helps you get where
you need to go and ensures emergency vehicles can respond quickly to a fire or medical emergency. Just one wrongly parked car can restrict access for a snow plow or fire truck.
