City of East Grand Rapids recently issued the following announcement.
At this week’s meeting, the City Commission recognized crossing guard Susan Maccardini for reporting a house fire on her way home from a shift at Breton Downs last November. After calling 911, Susan stayed at the scene and assisted with traffic and crowd control. Chief Herald presented a certificate of appreciation to thank her for her quick thinking and dedication to serving the community. Thank you, Susan!
Later in the meeting, the Commission approved an ordinance amendment clarifying rules and procedures for the new Zoning Board of Appeals and started preparing for their strategic planning session later in January.
