It was hot Wednesday for the Police in the Parks event but we still had a good turnout. Thanks as always to First Responders Children's Foundation for providing the basketballs and volleyballs for the kids.
They have a program called "The Power of Play", which was created to encourage children, first responder agencies and community leaders to engage—to be creative, to be imaginative, to disconnect from the screen and participate in creative individual activities as well as physical, outdoor health and wellness activities. https://1strcf.org/the-power-of-play/
If you've ever wondered what First Responders Children's Foundation is all about here is the FRCF Mission:
First Responders Children’s Foundation provides financial support to children who have lost a parent in the line of duty as well as families enduring significant financial hardship due to tragic circumstances. First Responders Children’s Foundation also supports, promotes, and facilitates educational activities and programs created and operated by first responder organizations whose purpose is to benefit children or the community at large.
Mark your calendars for next week Wednesday for the final Police in the Parks event for this summer. We will be at Wedgewood Park, 1-2:30.
