City of Kentwood issued the following announcement on Dec 30.
As cooler temperatures become more prevalent, make sure to keep an eye on your water pipes and meter. When below-freezing temperatures are sustained over a few days, pipes and meters close to cold air may freeze.
Some preventative measures you can take to help protect your water pipes from damage in winter include:
• Make frequent use of your water supply
• Eliminate cold drafts near water pipes
• Provide warmth to the pipes
