Senior LIBIA HERNANDEZ & Freshman SABASTIAN HERNANDEZ set Two new records for LEE HS w/Coach Maxim/Beckett/Gomez at the ever so tough Kent County Varsity wrestling Championship tournament today. 24 teams.
Libia won first place in the girls division of the Kent County championship tournament. She now holds the record at LEE HS for being a two time Champion at this tournament. Libia dominated her bracket & went undefeated to earn the first place medal.
Sebastian now holds the record of being the first Freshman from LEE HS to earn a medal in the boys division of the 16 man bracket at the Kent County Championship tournament under Coách Maxim. Sebastian earned tough wins over division 1 Rockford, Lowell, FHN & also turned in stellar performances against GRCC & E Kentwood to earn a 6th place medal. Anyone that knows wrestling knows that it is extremely tough to medal at this tournament filled with top Schools.
Others representing LEE that received wins & team points for LEE but did not medal were Renee Radilladiego & Carlos Hernandez.
Carlos Flores-Garcia, Lameck Maulidi, Jose Maya, & Jose Pinacho showed improvement and wrestled the best they could for LEE even though they did not win matches.
