City of East Grand Rapids recently issued the following announcement.
If your neighborhood street is planning to participate in the luminary displays on Christmas Eve, contact Public Works Operations at 616.940.4870 no later than Dec. 21 to request barrels of sand for delivery at your street block location. Public Works will be picking up barrels and sand on Dec. 27 and 28. Please remember to deposit sand back into the barrels for pickup and to remove/dispose of bags/materials used your display.
Luminary bags and candles are provided by representatives of each block or blocks that participate in this tradition together.
