Michigan Winter Hazards Awareness Week

Winter

City of Grandville issued the following announcement on Nov 12.

It’s Michigan Winter Hazards Awareness Week and today we are sharing winter driving tips! According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, over 1,300 people are killed and more than 116,800 people injured in vehicle crashes on snowy or icy pavement each year. Most accidents are caused when people drive too fast for conditions.

Plan for your commute the day before by checking the forecast. If there is going to be ice or snow, make sure you leave early. We highlight adverse weather on our Facebook and Twitter accounts, or you can check our website at weather.gov/grandrapids.

The latest road conditions can be found at mdotjboss.state.mi.us/MiDrive/map.
