City of Lowell issued the following announcement on Sept 25.
Beginning on Monday September 27, 2021, the Michigan Department of Transportation will be repaving 4.66 miles of Fulton Street from Bennett Road in Ada Township to Birmingham Drive in Lowell Township. The project is proposed to be constructed in 3 stages with 2 full closures of M-21. The detour map is attached and the stages are as follows:
• Stage 1 – M-21 from Bennett St to Birmingham Ave
o Single lane closures along the whole project length to complete joint repairs
o Note: No more than one closure is allowed in each direction of travel and the Contractor will be flagging vehicles thru the closure.
o Currently proposed schedule: 09/29 and 09/30 (weather dependent)
• Stage 2 – M-21 from Bennett St to Settlewood Dr
o Full closure detour route
M-21 / Pettis Ave / Vergennes St / Parnell Ave / M-21
o Currently proposed schedule: 10/11 thru 10/14 (weather dependent)
• Stage 3 – M-21 from Settlewood Dr to Birmingham Ave
o Full closure detour route
M-21 / Alden Nash Ave / Vergennes St / Parnell Ave / M-21
o Currently proposed schedule: 10/18 thru 10/21 (weather dependent)
