Grandville Public Schools welcomed 5,521 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 5,521 students enrolled in Grandville Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.6% less than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.6% of them were boys, and 49.4% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 72.2% of the Grandville Public Schools total enrollment.

Grandville Public Schools covers 10 schools within Kent County with its main office in Grandville. Among them, Grandville High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,767 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
