There were 1,650 students enrolled in Godfrey-Lee Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.6% less than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.1% of them were boys, and 47.9% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were Hispanic, representing 79.6% of the Godfrey-Lee Public Schools total enrollment.

Godfrey-Lee Public Schools covers five schools within Kent County with its main office in Wyoming. Among them, Lee High School recorded the highest enrollment of 503 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
