This year, the Wyoming Fire Department has responded to nearly 200 more calls compared to last year at this time.
Staffing levels in the Wyoming Fire Department are too low but calls continue to increase. Minimum staffing does not provide the department with enough firefighters on any shift to safely enter a structure fire and the department relies heavily on assistance from surrounding communities.
On May 3, Wyoming voters will be asked to consider two ballot proposals that will provide additional funding to the Wyoming Department of Public Safety.
