Lowell Area Schools issued the following announcement on Mar 31.

Who is ready for summer camp! If you have a student who will be in grade 2-5 this fall, the Wittenbach Wege Center - Agriscience and Environmental Education has a couple of week long camps you should check out!

Two Options for Junior Master Naturalist!

Audubon Adventures:  The WWC and GR Audubon are happy to offer Audubon Adventures Camp.  This is a nature discovery camp for students entering grades 2-5 in the fall of 2022.  We will explore the AMAZING & WILD WORLD of BIRDS.  Each day campers will get to know Michigan birds and wildlife and  explore habitats using Audubon Adventures as our guide.

Birding 101, building bird houses & feeders, bird art, journaling & sketching, and citizen science are all include in this busy week.  Haven’t you always wanted to call yourself an ORINTHOLOGIST?

OR

STREAM Kids:  The WWC Junior Master Naturalist Camp and Trout Unlimited are excited to offer STREAM Kids, a watershed-based education program for students entering grades 2-5 in the fall. We will be exploring in the wetlands and Lee Creek at the Wittenbach Wege Center.

STREAM Kids employs STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) plus Recreation and Arts to explore a local watershed. During the program, kids assess a community stream, sample macroinvertebrates, journal and sketch their experiences, tie a fishing fly, and learn to cast a fly rod, ultimately providing the Kids with an introduction to

STEM in a fun, meaningful, and supportive way.

Dates: July 18-22 from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $150 for 1 full week

Registration forms will be sent after signing up on our sign-up genius form. Deadline for sign-up and $75 deposit is due no later than June 1.
