Kentwood Public Schools issued the following announcement on Feb 25.
This season the Varsity dance team was undefeated in hip hop, won the Grand Champion award at every local competition, and were 2x Regional Champions for the first time in program history. After gaining support from the school, family, and the Kentwood community they headed off to Nationals in Orlando, FL. After their flight was overbooked, and they had no other options of getting there, they made an 18-hour car trip down to Florida to compete.
After going against over 50 of the best dance teams in the nation, both jazz and hip hop made it to finals. They received 4th place for hip hop and 15th place for jazz. It was a great feeling to be recognized among the best teams in the country.
