Lowell Area Schools recently issued the following announcement.
Lowell Area Schools is looking for a few parent representatives to serve as volunteers on the Reproductive Health Committee. This committee (otherwise known as the sex education advisory committee) will meet 3-4 times to review district reproductive health curriculum.
The first meeting is scheduled for August 12 at 6:00 p.m. State law requires such a committee to be in place to review and recommend reproductive health materials to the Board of Education. The committee's recommendation will ultimately be presented to the Board of Education for final approval. This committee will be comprised of parents, staff members, and other stakeholders as defined by Board of Education policies.
Interested parents should fill out our Parent Interest Form by August 2. If you require further information contact Dan VanderMeulen, Director of Curriculum.
